How to Share an Online Article Using Safari Reader View and Safari Print Page to PDF

Recently, I sent my daughter in NYC a wonderful Washington Post piece about a Little Italy celebration signaling a return from the pandemic.  She replied that "W Post makes me login on first article", meaning she couldn't read it.  So I went back to the online Washington Post article, screenshot below:

In the left of the URL Window, click to "Show Reader View"

Here's the lovely clean Reader view of the same story.

Now, in the upper right of the Safari window is a Print This Page icon, so click on that.

In the Print Dialog box, notice the PDF button in the lower middle of the window.

Toggle this to see a range of alternatives, but simpleast is save as PDF.

Save this to wherever you save files, whether iCloud Drive, or Documents, or to an email.

Now you can send the entire article to the friend you wanted to share it with.

Out of this, I made a change to Safari preferences on my iPad so my iPad would try to use Reader View on all websites that allow it.  Go to Settings, scroll down to Safari.  There keep scrolling down until the section called Settings for Websites.  There, you'll see Reader as one of the listed options.

Toggle this on, to automatically use Reader View on all websites.

With this setting turned on, whenever I browse to a news website, the page redraws to Reader View for a far more pleasurable and clean read of an article.  Here's a brief video clip showing this.
