DropBox Expands Rewards, Great for Customers

I've been using Dropbox for many months, for easiest file sharing:  between my desktop Mac and my laptop Mac; with my brother a region away, with our daughter a continent away, and increasingly as iDisk is going away with iCloud implementation.

• Like many cloud applications, dropbox has a "free" level and also rewards people who bring others to the application.  Dropbox came with 2 GB free, plus gave users 250 MB added for every person who joined Dropbox at their initiation, to a maximum of 8 GB.  

• Not long ago, I noticed that my free space had jumped a GB or two, and finally found out why.  Dropbox upped its referral reward to 500 MB and the upper limit for free space from 8 to 16 GB.  dropbox-ups-its-free-storage-referral-limit.

• And they made this change retroactive, so my modest number of referral awards had doubled.  Plus, according to the blog above, the person who joined Dropbox at my initiation also received the 500 GB bump up.
